The Great Wave

The great wave was created was published between 1830 and 1833, it's a woodblock print by a japanese artist named Hokusai. It's shows a huge wave attacking fisherman in the sea, it also shows mount fuji in the background, which appears in alot of japanese artwork especially woodblock print. Hokusai created a series of images called 'Thirty-six Views of Fuji Mountain' and the great wave was the first addition to this collection. Due to the popularity of the collection, ten more pieces were added after the original publication.
