The Mysterious Explorations of Jasper Morello

 Jasper Morello is a weird animation about a man looking for a cure to a sickness that alot of people have. So he goes exploring with a doctor on an air ship with a crew, the airship crashes on an island, and there is a stange creature that cures the sickness, but it feeds on human blood and doctor keeps feeding the creature. The creature starts eating the crew and the doctor falls over board so Jasper is left to feed the creature. It has and old school feel to it with futuristic aspects. It has steampunk influences throughout.

Edgar Allen Poe

Edgar Allen Poe was born in Boston in 1809 and die in Baltimore in 1849 at age 40 was an American author, poet, editor and literary critic. Poe is considered the inventor of the detective fiction genre. He was the first well-known American writer to try to earn a living through writing alone. He was an orphan as a child which is why he has a double barrelled name. His biggest phobia was being buried alive.

Edward Hopper

This painting is called 'Woman in the sun'. It shows a woman stood naked in front of her bedroom window being hit by the morning sun.
I feel that along with alot of  Edward Hoppers gives a feeling of isolation, the woman feels so isolated that she feels comfortable stood in front of a window. Being naked normally makes people feel vunerable even when in their own home but she seems to have no such worries.
You can see the hills through the other window so im guessing she is in the countryside which suggest she is far from other people.
i would also say she has a need to dress up, maybe for a job or too impress someone i.e a partner, due to the fact she has high heels next to her bed so i would guess that she had them on the night before.

Art Deco

Art Deco originated in Paris in the 1920's but went international in the 1930's. It is highly influential in all forms art such as architecture and interior design. the Chrysler Building in New York is influenced by Art Deco

Art deco experienced a decline in popularity during the late 1930s and early 1940s, but had a resurgence during the 1960s with the first book on the subject by Bevis Hillier in 1968 and later an exhibition organised by him in Minneapolis in 1971.

Utopia VS Dystopia

Utopia is someones idea of a perfect place and Dystopia is the opposite being the worst place.

The Great Wave

The great wave was created was published between 1830 and 1833, it's a woodblock print by a japanese artist named Hokusai. It's shows a huge wave attacking fisherman in the sea, it also shows mount fuji in the background, which appears in alot of japanese artwork especially woodblock print. Hokusai created a series of images called 'Thirty-six Views of Fuji Mountain' and the great wave was the first addition to this collection. Due to the popularity of the collection, ten more pieces were added after the original publication.

Periodo Azul

Periodo Azul translates as 'The Blue Period'. Pablo Picasso started to paint his pictures in blue after the suicide of his friend, Carlos Casagemas. He would paint doleful monochromatic paintings. The period was between 1901 and 1904, he said 'I started to paint in blue when i heard of Casagemas's death'  I like the paintings in the blue period because they give off the sadness of the picture with the colour and then the image itself has an element of sadness.
